Tenure-Track Probationary Period: 3 years (with tenure review taking place approximately 2.5 years after commencing the position)
Mandatory Retirement Age: 65

Qualifications:
- Doctorate in hand (or proof of imminent completion)
- Experience in teaching EFL (Experience in EFL for computer science, engineering, or science students will be viewed favorably)
- Primary consideration will be the selection of a candidate with strength in English language teaching
- Scholarly publications and professional experience
- International experience (preferable for candidate to have lived, studied, or worked outside their native country; experience in Japan will be viewed favorably)
Duties: Teach an average of 2 courses per quarter over 4 quarters (= 8 courses per year, usually 5 unique courses plus 3 repeated sections); courses include EFL courses and a Thesis Writing course; serve on committees; conduct and publish research
Salary:
Commensurate with qualifications/experience by Fukushima prefecture regulations
Annual base salary (*1, *2): approx. 5,000,000 yen - 7,000,000 yen
(*1) Other allowances including bonuses are paid in addition to the base salary
(*2) Social security premiums, taxes, etc. will be deducted from the salary
